What is Alpha Engine?
A live price-intelligence terminal for the Pokémon trading-card market. It tracks the entire catalog with real marketplace prices and runs breakout-detection math on every card, so you can see where momentum is building instead of scrolling listings by hand.
Where does the pricing data come from?
Real marketplace data (TCGplayer and Cardmarket) sourced via the PokémonTCG.io API, refreshed on a daily schedule. We don't make prices up or use placeholder data.
How do the signals work?
Each card is scored server-side using a 3-day Rate-of-Change plus a 3-day versus 14-day moving-average relationship, then placed on a six-point scale: PURCHASE, ACCUMULATE, WATCHING, FALLING, STAGNANT, and GATHERING. Crucially, a PURCHASE has to be confirmed across two independent markets — our US TCGplayer read AND a Cardmarket (EU) uptrend — on a liquid price spread. If the markets disagree or the spread is thin, the call is capped at ACCUMULATE. You can open any card to audit every number, including the cross-market check.

How fresh is the data?
Prices refresh on a daily cron, and signals are recomputed right after each refresh. The longer your account runs, the more price history accrues — which sharpens the signals over time.
Which games are supported?
Pokémon today, with the full English catalog. The data pipeline is provider-agnostic, so additional trading-card games can be added later.
